Vue.js: A Powerful Development Tool

Vue, or Vue.js, is an open-source, JavaScript framework used to develop user interfaces that are interactive and solutions that we call Single-page applications. It was first released in 2014. It is a simple, yet powerful and versatile, interface-developer tool. It can be easily integrated into big projects for front-end development. Vue Core library is an essential constituent of the Vue.js system. The other most important tools are Vuex and Vue Router. They are some of the fundamental tools for Vue development. Vue Router is the Vue.js router that collaborates with Vue.js Core to create single-page applications easily. The Single page application (SPA) presents a single page like a multi-page site, avoiding loading a page every time someone accesses it. Vuex is the Vue.js library that stores all its components. 

Getting Started with Vue.js

Before getting started with Vue.js, one needs to have some knowledge of basic JavaScript, HTML, and CSS as a pre-requisite. Also, you will need NodeJS to be installed to work with it, which is a JavaScript runtime environment executing the JS code with a browser. Vue may be set up and used either in a Node project or by inserting it into an HTML file. For a beginner, one of the simplest Vue.js examples to try would be a ‘Hello World!’ display by inserting a ‘script’ component into an HTML file as follows:

Then, with the ‘script’ tag, data is linked to DOM (Document Object Model). A new Vue is created. The ‘text’ is specified:

Vue.js Components

Constituents of Vue.js are its most fundamental feature, helping create custom elements that can be reused in HTML. It could be thought of as something like a set of instructions to perform a particular task. It is considered by the system as an independent module and is assigned a specific name within it. It can be reused any number of times. Every time a component is used, a new instance is created in Vue. It is useful in that even an app can be built as a structure of nested components.

Vue.js DevTools

Vue.js DevTools a very handy tool for the JS developer. Usually, it can be downloaded and used as a Chrome or Firefox extension. Then it appears as an icon at the top right part of the screen. When you click on the DevTools icon, a panel is opened with which you can examine your Vue app. The Vue.js DevTools panel will have three separate sections for examination: Events, Components, and Vuex. 

The ‘Components’ section shows us the components used on a page. It also displays the ‘data’ properties and ‘prop’ values. The ‘Events’ section shows the captured events. The ‘Vuex’ section helps us inspect the Vuex mutations.

To overcome the handicap, VueNative was developed by uniting Vue.js with React Native, which powers cross-platform mobile apps. And now it is being easily used to develop Vue.js mobile apps. Vue.js Review

Vue.js is indeed a versatile tool that can be easily integrated, even with third-party applications. It is one of the best web development tools that allows easy tracking of the lifecycle of any component. However, for the development of complex interfaces, Vue.js is not the best choice.
